England vs USA LIVE
Fifa Women's World Cup 2019, semi-final
Venue: Parc Olympique Lyonnais, France
Kick-off time: 8pm BST
Live stream: BBC One/BBC iPlayer
Referee: Alves Batista Edina

England are two games away from World Cup glory as they prepare for a mammoth semi-final against world champions USA.

The Lionesses did not let a feisty last-16 match against Cameroon get to them as they put in a ruthlessly professional performance to dismantle Norway 3-0 in the quarter-finals.

As for the USWNT, they knocked out holders France as Megan Rapinoe scored twice to mark herself out as one of the main threats for Phil Neville's side.

England team news and predicted line-ups

Neville feared that centre-back pairing Steph Houghton and Millie Bright would miss out against Norway, but both completed a full 90 minutes with a clean sheet thrown in for good measure.

The coach will be tempted to stick with the same XI which saw off the Norwegians, but replacing Toni Duggan with Beth Mead after just 54 minutes of that match suggests he could be tempted to make that switch from the off this time around.

As for the US, Jill Ellis has no fresh injury concerns as the favourites seek to retain the trophy.

England XI: Bardsley, Bronze, Houghton, Bright, Stokes, Walsh, Parris, Scott, Kirby, White, Mead

USA XI: Naeher, O'Hara, Dahlkemper, Sauerbrunn, Dunn, Lavelle, Ertz, Mewis, Heath, Morgan, Rapinoe

Prediction: England 1-2 USA

The Lionesses are hitting form at exactly the right point of the tournament, but face their toughest test yet by far against the holders.

The main problem for Neville and his players will be working out how to stop USA's blistering attack, with Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe scoring five apiece so far.

Carli Lloyd has also scored three, with Samantha Lewis, Lindsey Horan and Rose Lavelle all notching two - but England have firepower of their own with Ellen White netting five.

The Lionesses will have to be at the top of their game - and even then, it may not be enough to prevent USWNT from reaching another final.
