England vs Ukraine referee: Felix Brych, the German law doctor officiating Euros quarter-final today

Referee Felix Brych will tonight take charge of England's Euro 2020 quarter-final with Ukraine, joined by an officiating team comprising of all fellow Germans.

The 45-year-old former law doctor from Munich is considered among the best referees in the game, and will be overseeing his fourth match of the tournament.

He has previously officiated a Europa League Final and a Champions League Final.

At the Euros, he has taken charge of Belgium's wins over Finland and Portugal and, earlier, Netherlands' 3-2 win over Ukraine.

His most recent game, Belgium's win over Portugal, saw him dish out five yellow cards. Brych is considered a stern referee.

Brych will be supported by assistants Mark Borsch and Stefan Lupp. The four-man Video Assistant Referee team will led by Marco Fritz, who are also all German.

The German last took charge of England for a 0-0 draw with Croatia in the Nations League in 2018.
