England vs Sweden: Harry Kane reveals crucial factor in 2-0 win that took team through to World Cup 2018 semi-finals

England captain Harry Kane has said that the team’s “brilliant” set-pieces were a key factor in the 2-0 World Cup quarter-final win over Sweden.

After a nervy start in Samara England took the lead when Harry Maguire headed home Ashley Young’s pinpoint corner.

Dele Alli’s second-half header then took England through to the last four of a World Cup for the first time since 1990.

“It was a difficult game, Sweden made it tough - long balls, different to what we have faced so far,” Kane said after the match.

“But we were brilliant at set-pieces, crosses into the box and we are buzzing.”

The reigning tournament top scorer added that the side felt confident ahead of a World Cup semi-final against either Russia or Croatia.

“We know there is a big game ahead with the semi-final but we are feeling good and we're confident,” he added.

“We just have to go again. We are enjoying it and we've got keep doing what we are doing and make the country proud.”
