England vs Sri Lanka
2019 Cricket World Cup
Venue: Headingley
Start: 10:30am BST
The Cricket World Cup heads north to Headingley for the first time as England look to all-but cement their semi-final spot against Sri Lanka on Friday.
Bar a slip up against Pakistan at Trent Bridge, Eoin Morgan's side have been in sensational form, and arrive off the back of a record-breaking victory over Afghanistan.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, still have unlikely ambitions of reaching the semi-finals, but were badly hit by washed out games earlier in the tournament which have left them needing upset wins to progress.
England vs Sri Lanka team news
James Vince will continue to open the batting alongside Jonny Bairstow as Jason Roy continues his recovery from a hamstring tear, but Eoin Morgan showed in the win over Afghanistan that his back problems have been put aside.
Liam Plunkett missed that victory through illness, but his return will depend on whether England opt to stick with both Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid as two front-line spinners.
Result prediction: England win
A ruthless performance against Afghanistan proved once again just how easily this England side can bat opponents out of a game before they were ever in it. It's difficult to see how Sri Lanka's attack might contain them.
