England vs South Africa: Where to watch the rugby in London

The eyes of the sporting world will be on Twickenham Stadium this Saturday afternoon, when England's Rugby Union side kick off against South Africa at 3pm.

It’s the first of four upcoming Quilter internationals, which will also see England take on New Zealand, Japan and Australia on successive Saturdays at Twickenham.

It promises to be a highly competitive game, with the sides ranked fourth and fifth in the world respectively, and a must-watch for sports fans in the capital.

Eddie Jones’s men will be hoping to end 2018 strongly after what has been a difficult year for English rugby.

The Red and Whites finished a lowly fifth in the Six Nations back in March, before losing 2-1 in the test series against South Africa over the summer.

There are worrying signs for England going into Saturday’s game too, with the side missing some of their key forwards, including the injured Billy and Mako Vunipola, Courtney Lawes, Joe Launchbury, Chris Robshaw and Dan Cole.

It’s sure to be a huge test for Jones’s team, who have shown determination to come through bad patches of form before.

These are the best London pubs and bars to catch the action if you can’t make it to Twickenham this weekend.

November 2 update: M Threadneedle Street was previously listed in the guide, but will now no longer be showing the game
