England vs Scotland trash talk ramps up as cocky talkSPORT duo fire 'C team' brag

England could field a C team and still see off Scotland at Euro 2020.

That's the claim from cocky talkSPORT duo Danny Murphy and Simon Jordan ahead of next summer's showdown.

Steve Clarke 's side will meet the Auld Enemy at Wembley next summer after booking passage to a first major tournament in 23 years.

But some down south have already written off Scotland 's chances.

Former Liverpool star Murphy insists the Three Lions won't give the Scots a second thought, while Jordan told host Jim White to "get real" if he thinks Clarke's men stand a chance.

Murphy said: "Scotland should enjoy it, but shouldn't have any expectations.

"England could put two or three teams out and beat Scotland, if we had a few injuries.

"England aren't worried about Scotland, England players are won't worried about playing Scotland.

"They're worried about Croatia. They'll beat Scotland and Denmark."

And Jordan chimed in: "You won't last long is what he's saying. Come on Jim, get real."

The trio were debating the nations' respective chances at the delayed competition in 2021 after England's defeat to Belgium sent Gareth Southgate's side crashing out of the Nations League finals contention.

But Murphy was undeterred as he wrote off Scotland's chances.

He said: "They're not going to beat England, are they? You think Scotland are going to beat England at the Euros?"

And Jordan added: "You can pray to whatever God you worship. They're not good enough."
