England vs Italy tickets on sale for £50k as fans scramble for Wembley seat

Tickets for England’s Euro 2020 final against Italy at Wembley are already being flogged by touts for £50,000.

The Three Lions secured their place in the final after beating Denmark 2-1 on a thrilling night in front of 65,000 supporters.

Denmark took the lead through a stunning Mikkel Damsgaard free-kick in the opening 45, before a Simon Kjaer own goal brought England back into the game.

And after the game went into extra-time, Harry Kane tapped home after his penalty was saved by Kasper Schmeichel.

England now take on Italy on Sunday night, hoping to end 55 years of hurt by winning the European Championships.

The stadium is already sold out for the game, with the government using the final as another trial event.

However, some are taking advantage of holding a ticket by reselling them for as much as £50,000.

A pair of Category 1 tickets on reselling site Ticombo are advertised at £40,000 with a staggering £10,000 booking fee.

Another site has tickets on sale for £15,600, while a seat in Bobby Moore’s hospitality suite is going for £40,560.

Gareth Southgate described the atmosphere during the win over Denmark as the best in the national stadium, since moving from the old Wembley site in 2001.

"I'm so proud of the players," Southgate said. "It's an incredible occasion to be a part of, the fans were incredible all night.

"For our country…I've not heard the new Wembley like that, ever. To be able to share that with everybody is very special."

He added: "I felt we would get over the line but knew we would have different sorts of battles. Denmark are so underrated as a team; they did cause us a lot of problems.

"When you have waited as long as we have to get through a semi-final the players - given the limited amount of international experience some of them have - have done an incredible job.

"The most pleasing thing is that we've given our fans and nation a fantastic night, and the journey carries on for another four days.

"For the team to come through this sort of a night, we suffered in Moscow on a night like this, we managed to put that right."
