England take on Fiji in their second game of the 2025 Autumn Internationals at Twickenham.

Steve Borthwick’s side are fresh off an opening win against Australia, as the hosts defeated the Wallabies 25-7 last weekend.

Ben Earl, Henry Pollock, Alex Mitchell, and Luke Cowan-Dickie all got on the scoresheet for England, and despite Harry Potter’s try for the Aussies, Joe Schmidt’s team could not muster any magic.

George Ford had a bad day off the tee, kicking just one conversion and knocking over one penalty, but it was the morale-booster that Borthwick and his staff needed moving into the following fixtures.

Now, they face Fiji, who they last played in the quarter-finals of the World Cup back in 2023.

England ran out 30-24 victors that day at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille, with Owen Farrell on-target with his kicking, scoring five penalties and adding a drop-goal to Manu Tuilagi and Joe Marchant’s scores.

The 2003 winners had been leading comfortably by 14 points with quarter of an hour to go in that last-eight clash, but Fiji's Peni Ravai and Vilimoni Botitu scored quickfire tries within four minutes to even proceedings at 24-24.

Farrell then stepped up with the decisive drop-goal and penalty to book England’s place in the semis, where they were edged out by a point by South Africa.

England vs Fiji team news

Borthwick has rung the changes with his team selection.

Fin Smith has got the nod to play at stand-off, while Marcus Smith, a natural fly-half, comes in at full-back to replace Freddie Steward.

Maro Itoje is amongst the replacements, while Chandler Cunningham-South makes his first Test start at No8 in the absence of Tom Willis, who is ineligible due to his decision to play his club rugby in France.

Tommy Freeman and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso complete the back three, with Tom Roebuck struggling with an ankle injury.

That means that Ollie Lawrence returns to the side following his Six Nations Achilles tear in midfield, partnered by Fraser Dingwall.

Alex Coles replaces Itoje at lock, linking up with Ollie Chessum in the second row, while Ellis Genge captains the side from the front, joined by Joe Heyes and Cowan-Dickie.

George Ford has missed out completely on the matchday squad.

Confirmed England XV: M Smith; Freeman, Lawrence, Dingwall, Feyi-Waboso; F Smith, Mitchell; Genge, Cowan-Dickie, Heyes, Coles, Chessum, Pepper, Earl, Cunningham-South

Replacements: George, Baxter, Opoku-Fordjour, Itoje, T Curry, Pollock, Spencer, Arundell

England vs Fiji prediction

They made hard work of the Flying Fijians last time out, and there could be some time needed to gel as Borthwick continues to tinker.

But you would expect the home side to have it mostly their own way here.
