The Three Lions have secured passage to a first major tournament final for 55 years after topping Group D thanks to narrow wins over Croatia and Czech Republic either side of the drab draw with Scotland. They then went on to beat Germany in the last 16 - a first knockout win over their old rivals in nearly two decades - before thumping Ukraine in the quarter-final in Rome.
Then their toughest test, going behind in the first-half of the semi-final thanks to a brilliant Mikkel Damsgaard free-kick. The lead didn’t last long, however, as Simon Kjaer deflected through his own net to level the scores just before the interval. The match would go to extra-time when Harry Kane stepped up for a penalty only to miss and score the rebound past Kasper Schmeichel.
