England vs Australia LIVE score: Ashes 2019 second Test scorecard and latest updates

England are aiming for revenge at Lord's after their first Test humiliation at Edgbaston - but have a day less to do the damage after the first day was washed out.

Joe Root's men were beaten into submission by Steve Smith's centuries in both innings in the first Test, before spinner Nathan Lyon ripped through their batting on the final day to end up with six wickets.

That all culminated in a 251 runs defeat to give Australia a 1-0 lead in the Ashes.

As the action belatedly starts on Thursday, England have a fresh look to their side at the Home of Cricket, with James Anderson ruled out with a calf injury and Moeen Ali dropped.

Jofra Archer, and his highly rated fast bowling, is almost certainly Anderson's replacement, while spinner Jack Leach and all-rounder Sam Curran have also been included.

Thursday is also Strauss Day at Lord's, in dedication to the Ruth Strauss Foundation, meaning red caps will be worn by the England squad - and red suits by Sky Sports presenters.
