Harry Kane scores!
(Picture: Getty Images)In what can only be described as the dream scenario for England fans, the Three Lions are 4-0 up against Ukraine – and, honestly, people are almost finding it too much to handle.
Harry Kane scored in the third minute after Raheem Sterling superbly slipped the skipper behind the Ukrainian backline to direct past Georgiy Bushchan.
The second goal came within minutes of the second half whistle as Harry Maguire headed the ball into the back of the net.
Minutes later, before fans had barely had the chance to compute the scoreline, Kane scored his second goal. Then, in the 62nd minute, Jordan Henderson made it four.
The scoreline has left fans understandably ecstatic.
Here are some of the best reactions, starting with Kane’s early goal that got everyone excited...
Yeeeeehaaaaaa @HKane Never in doubt. The life of a forward 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #EURO2020 #ENGUKR

Although, for some, it was almost a TOO good start, with supporters admitting they weren’t used to feeling so, umm, relaxed about a crunch football game involving England, so soon after the first whistle:
The absence of anxiety is making me anxious #ENGUKR
— Sathnam Sanghera (@Sathnam) July 3, 2021
For some reason I’m always more nervous when we’re 1-0 up than when it’s 0-0. Come on England - just one more and I can relax a little bit! #ENG #ENGUKR

Only trouble with a 4th min goal........86 min of pure terror left ! #ENGUKR
— Krissyboi💙 (@diggamatik) July 3, 2021
Now, I am worried that the goal was too early. Whenever Arsenal go 1-0 up within five mins, they end up losing in the end. #ENGUKR
— Mani Pillai (@ManiPillai1886) July 3, 2021
And other fans bemoaned the fact that they’d hardly had time to settle down for the game...
What the hell? I am that idiot who missed the ‘first’ goal cos I was getting crisps and dips 😂🤦🏻♀️🥳💥 #ENGUKR
— Jemma Forte (@jemmaforte) July 3, 2021
Not even 5 minutes in and already a goal (that I missed)! #ENG #ENGUKR
— Natasha (@jubberlicious) July 3, 2021
Others said they couldn’t think about celebrating until England scored at least another goal. Soon after Kane put England in front, the term “please England” was trending on Twitter as fans begged the team for a second...
Just another 2 or 3 to settle the nerves please England
— Rob Berrisford (@RobBerrisford) July 3, 2021
Can we make it 2-0 please England
— Rachael (@rachaelburt1) July 3, 2021
Come on England just one more goal and we are good to go for break .please England #ENG #ItsComingHome
— sudanesebridal (@sudanesebridal) July 3, 2021
But, luckily, fans’ pleas were answered early in the second half – and they were very happy.
Well, this is bloody brilliant.
