That’s all from me! I’ll leave you with Suzanne Wrack’s match report from Zurich.

France v Wales is due to kick off shortly, be sure to join Will Unwin for minute-by-minute coverage.

England manager Sarina Wiegman tells BBC Sport: “I’m very happy with the score because that’s a massive help because goal difference can make the difference.

“Also the days into this game, how we looked at each other’s eyes and said ‘ok what do we do?’ and execution of the game plan. I think that really helped.

“I thought the Netherlands were struggling to keep up the level. We just did really well. I’m really proud of the team. We aren’t there yet but this is an incredible response.”

Team news for France v Wales is in…

France: Peyraud-Magnin, Samoura, Sombath, Toletti, Geyoro, Malard, Majri, Diani, Bacha, Mateo, N’Dongala

Subs: Lerond, Picaud, Lakrar, De Almeida, Karchaoui, Katoto, Gago, Baltimore, Jean-Francois, Mbock Batty, D Cascarino, Bogaert

Wales: Middleton-Patel; Woodham, Evans, Green, Holland, James, Barton, Fishlock, Rowe, E Morgan, FF Morgan

Subs: Clark, Soper, Ingle, Roberts, Cain, Ladd, Hughes, Estcourt, Joel, Powell, Jones, Griffiths

Beau Dure messaged in during the match to say:

“I’ve been watching and covering the US women’s team since the mid-90s. I’ve probably seen half of the World Cup, Olympics and Euro games this century. I have never seen a team finishing this clinically against quality opposition. Never.”

England winger Lauren James tells BBC Sport: “I enjoyed it a lot. The goals say it all. We bounced back from our previous game and today we showed we’re more than capable of showing the world what we can do.

“I just try to do my best each game. Hopefully, as the games go on I keep getting more involved.”

Stephen Holliday says:

“This is all a bit Euro 96 isn’t it? Hopefully the ladies can go two better than that memorable summer!!!”

Tom Hopkins just messaged in to say:

“Dodgy first game, thrashing the Dutch, in a group with one of the other home nations, Oasis the sound of the summer (I guess?)….. I’m getting a distinct Euro 96 vibe. We can’t get Germany in the semis can we?”

What a performance from England, and what a turnaround from Saturday’s loss to France. The Lionesses were back to their best tonight, dominating every area of the pitch. Some doubted whether they would be able to bounce back from that opening match defeat, but they have managed to do so in formidable fashion.

FULL-TIME: England 4-0 Netherlands

They needed to deliver, and they certainly did. What a result for England.

“Greetings from occupied California. The upfield pressure by England is making the Netherlands look very shaky. Smells like an England goal is coming soon.”

That was much, much better from England compared to Saturday’s performance against France. They are being proactive rather than reactive, forcing errors from the Dutch players in all areas of the pitch. They certainly deserve to be 2-0 up.

HALF-TIME: England 2-0 Netherlands

England go into the break with a strong lead.

45+3 min: A long England free kick is sent into the box and Netherlands fail to clear. The ball falls out to Stanway on the edge of the area, who drills a low shot into the bottom-left corner!

GOAL! England 2-0 Netherlands (Georgia Stanway, 45+2)

Stanway makes it two with another fantastic strike!

Updated

45 min: Greenwood is dispossessed by Roord in midfield and wins a free kick. The Dutch players are not happy with the decision.

44 min: Kaptein does well to get out of a tricky defensive position before sending Netherlands on the break, however, England can turn possession around once again.

42 min: James plays a clever pass over to Russo in the box. The striker goes for goal with a header but her effort drifts narrowly wide.

41 min: Greenwood sends the corner into the box. It is headed straight out by the Netherlands defence, but only to James. The winger puts the ball back into the danger zone but it is cleared again.

38 min: Toone sends another cross into the box after receiving a pass from Hemp, with Russo going for the header. She forces a save from Van Domselaar, who gets down to make the save but spills it. James looks to pounce but the goalkeeper gets back to it and England have a corner.

36 min: Toone fires a cross to Hemp in the box and the winger goes for the header, but her effort flies narrowly over the crossbar.

33 min: James loses the ball to Brugts on the right but forces the full-back into an error to win a corner. Greenwood takes the kick, but Van Domselaar comes off her line to claim.

30 min: This has been much, much better from England compared to Saturday’s defeat to France. They are playing with a much higher intensity, forcing problems for Netherlands as opposed to inviting them.

Updated

27 min: The ball is played through to Russo in the box, who runs just wide of the goal and can’t properly direct her effort on target.

26 min: Greenwood commits to intercepting a Netherlands pass in midfield. She doesn’t win the ball, however, and it gives Grant plenty of space to run down the right. Luckily for England, Stanway gets back to cover and the Lionesses win back possession.

23 min: Hampton plays a stunning pass through to Russo with the outside of her boot, perfectly splitting the Netherlands defence all the way from her box. Russo carries it to the right before playing inside to James on the edge of the box. The Chelsea star then positions herself before blasting her shot into the top-right corner!

As soon as James received the ball, you just knew she was going to score there.

GOAL! England 1-0 Netherlands (Lauren James, 22)

James puts England ahead with a thunderbolt! Phenomenal!

Updated

18 min: Hemp works her way into the box and looks to square the ball, but her attempt is easily intercepted by Pelova. England then regain possession quickly as the ball moves out to Stanway, who crosses into the penalty area, but Van Domselaar can claim it with ease.

17 min: England are doing well to restrict Netherlands in midfield, intercepting short passes after losing possession. So far, an improvement on Saturday.

15 min: James attempts to play a pass to Russo but it is cut out by Brugts. The full-back looks to play forward with a long ball but Carter has it covered.

13 min: Hampton is caught out by a back-pass and for a moment you can sense the collective fear from the England supporters in the stadium. The goalkeeper has plenty of time to regain the ball and her composure before playing out again.

11 min: Another long ball is played over to Hemp in the box, but she is clattered by Janssen. It takes a while, but the referee eventually stops play to check the winger for a head injury.

No penalty is given.

9 min: The ball is switched over to Hemp on the left by Walsh. The winger crosses into the box to Russo, but the striker’s header drifts wide. Huge chance for the Lionesses.

Updated

7 min: Greenwood plays a long ball over the Netherlands defence and through to Toone, but the midfielder can’t get there before Van Domselaar.

5 min: Grant is sent through on the right before squaring the ball to Miedema in the box. The forward is in a great position to shoot but her touch is too heavy and Hampton can claim.

4 min: Toone intercepts a pass from Pelova in midfield before playing the ball out to Hemp on the left. The winger sends a cross into the box as James goes for the header, but Brugts makes the clearance.

2 min: It looks as though Carter is starting next to Williamson in the centre of defence, with Greenwood out on the left. We could see those two swap throughout the match.

1 min: James and Bronze play a one-two on the right before the winger sends a cross into the box. Janssen is there head it clear.

KICK-OFF

We’re under way in Zurich!

Updated

The teams are out. The national anthems have been sung. Kick-off is just a few moments away!

Updated

A cheer rings around the stadium as the Prince of Wales appears on the big screen - he’s here in the stands tonight alongside the FA’s Debbie Hewitt.

One player we could see in action this evening, albeit off the bench, is 19-year-old Michelle Agyemang. The Arsenal striker was introduced for her major tournament debut in the 86th minute against France at the weekend and impressed with her short cameo, adding a refreshing level of energy to the England attack. She is now prepared to make an impact with any time she gets on the pitch.

“It’s easy to look at the time and think there’s not enough left,” Agyemang said this week. “That’s the beauty of the game. It only takes 10 seconds to make an impact. Any time is good enough for me, so I’m grateful for that opportunity.”

She also said: “Most of the pressure comes from myself. I don’t try to listen to the noise. I appreciate the support from everyone. Focusing on what I can do is most important and then the noise will come around no matter what happens. I just focus on how I can improve my game and how I can help the team.”

Peter has messaged in with his take on the England line-up:

“Alas, Sarina has chosen the best team of three years ago, not the best
team of the present, which should include Beever-Jones.
“Stanway, based on her performance against France, should be dropped for
this game.

“You have to use Beever-Jones at some time, before it’s too late. She is a match-winner, a goal-scorer and the trump card to win the Euros. Please use her today.”

It was the tournament where the Netherlands were going to show they could survive the group of death. That they were not too old and that Vivianne Miedema and Daniëlle van de Donk could still shine at the highest level.

Then it all turned into the Andries Jonker show…

During her pre-match press conference ahead of this evening’s match, England manager Sarina Wiegman said: “It’s going to be an intense game. We knew this was going to be a hard group. What we are focusing on is our game-plan and executing that, doing your task and having conversations with players together and talking together, and that is what we want to do in the game too.

“What we are occupied with is playing football, executing a task and sticking together, getting the right connections, working really hard, and doing everything to win the game.”

She later added: “We don’t talk about consequences. We talk about the game-plan, what we have to do to be at our best and how we can exploit spaces that the Netherlands leave behind.”

Vivianne Miedema has insisted she will “not be friends” with her partner Beth Mead tonight and vowed to do everything in her power to send her team to the knockout stages of Euro 2025 and eliminate England.

Miedema said: “If it’s not a nice moment for Beth, it’s not a problem for me. Tomorrow for once we will not be friends. I will do everything I can to win tomorrow. If I have to do something that is not good for Beth, then I will do it.

“I don’t think she’ll speak to me for a bit [if we win] but it’s tough. I also have some of my best friends on that [England] team. It’s part of football. It’s part of the game. I’ve probably been on the other end of it [more, losing]. I’ll be happy for us if we get through tomorrow.

“We both know what we’re going through. It’s a very important tournament. Our golden rule is we do not discuss anything [pre-match]. I don’t know whether she’ll be starting tomorrow or whether she’ll be on the bench. As a Dutch player I will do everything possible to win the game.”

Sarina Wiegman has plenty of history with the Dutch national team. Born in the Netherlands herself, she represented the country as a player from 1987 to 2001, earning over 100 caps. She was appointed the assistant coach of the national team in 2014 before eventually getting promoted to head coach two years later. And in 2017, she led Oranje to a European title, winning every match along the way.

England fans, I want to hear from you this evening! Let me know your thoughts on the team selection, who you think will be the biggest threat for England and the Netherlands, as well as any score predictions.

Netherlands fans, feel free to message in too!

Wales take on France in the second Group D clash of the day later this evening. A loss will see them knocked out of the tournament.

The Dutch fans are out in full voice ahead of the match.

Here’s a reminder of what happened in yesterday’s Group C fixtures…

Preamble

Hello, hallo and welcome to coverage of the huge Euro 2025 clash between England and the Netherlands. This could prove to be one of the games of the group stage with both teams vying for a place in the quarter-finals.

For the Lionesses, a win today is absolutely imperative. Anything less and they can pretty much wave goodbye to any hope of progressing which, quite frankly, would be a disaster.

England fans know just how important a win today is, Sarina Wiegman knows it, the players know it. But getting such a result will not be easy. The Netherlands possess one of the strongest squads in Europe and can pose a huge threat to any opponent.

This is where Group D will really come to life.

Kick-off for this one is at 5pm BST - you don’t want to miss it!
