england v honduras: Rooney kick
Free kick for England, 35 yards out, a step or two to the left of centre. Rooney loops a ball up over the wall and back down, the ball heading towards the bottom left. Valladares parries it off to the left, and Sturridge is onto the loose ball, but he's offside Photograph: Lee Smith/Action Images

england v honduras: Danny Welbeck
Daniel Sturridge surges past Honduras's Luis Miguel Garrido. The England forward has the best chance of the game so far after a sweet, flowing move by Roy Hodgson's side. England are three on three as Welbeck romps down the middle, then slides the ball out right to Rooney, who returns it immediately. On the edge of the area, Welbeck steps over the ball and lets it roll to Sturridge on his left. He's free on the edge of the area, and fires a low shot inches wide of the right-hand post Photograph: Steve Mitchell/USA Today Sports
england v honduras: Message about weather
After a couple of big claps of thunder midway through the first half the referee decides that safety is paramount. The players are taken off the field "due to the inclement weather and associated lightening", as the scoreboard screams we're told there'll be a 30-minute pause in play Photograph: Joe Toth/BPI/REX

england v honduras: Wayne Rooney attempts to show Emilio Izaguirre a clean pair of heels
After the restart England take a while to regain the momentum that they were displaying before the lightning came. Here Wayne Rooney attempts to show Emilio Izaguirre a clean pair of heels Photograph: Richard Heathcote/Getty Images
england v honduras: Daniel Sturridge
After a few dodgy tackles by the Hondurans Isaguirre finds himself in the ref's book, though he's lucky it wasn't a red card that was waved in his direction. Sturridge is clipped to the floor by Izaguirre. It's a foul. The ball rests just in front of the prone strike and Isaguirre decides to hammer the ball straight into Sturridge's nether regions, from close range. That's a great shot in billiards, but a really lowdown act on a football field. Sturridge jumped up with a view to clacking one on the Celtic full back, but thought better of it Photograph: Joe Toth/BPI/REX

england v honduras: Honduras midfielder Roger Espinoza
It's getting a bit rough out there. Honduras midfielder Roger Espinoza crashes on Jordan Henderson, left, after a challenge by Adam Lallana. It's a free kick for Honduras, 20 yards out, just to the left of goal. Chavez hits a decent enough effort towards the top left, but it's a little high, and Hart had it covered anyway. eng v hon: Ross Barkley of England is fouled
There's a couple of changes for England at half-time Gerrard and Rooney are replaced by Barkley and Wilshere. Barkley makes a lively start to the half and it isn't long before Bernardez is booked for hanging out a leg to stop the youngster, who had turned him nicely.
