England v Australia weather: Forecast for Cricket World Cup match at Lord's as heavy rain falls

Bristol has woken up to heavy rain across the country after a few days of glorious sunshine.

It's the same story across the country in London, where today's (June 25) Cricket World Cup match between England and Australia is set to take place.

The Met Office says there will be heavy rain until around 8am, followed by lighter showers at 9am.

The weather agency says the weather will then clear by around 10am - shortly before the match at Lord's Cricket Ground starts at 10.30am.

The forecast for today says: "Cloudy with heavy rain at first, perhaps thundery. Rain soon clears away north to leave a mainly dry day with some bright or sunny spells, and perhaps some isolated sharp showers.

"Feeling very warm and humid. Maximum temperature 26C."

Can I get a refund if the cricket is called off?

If the weather behaves itself, each team will bat for 50 overs. But in the event of rain the match officials may initially choose to reduce the overs played for each team, rather than postpone the game immediately.

Umpires will make regular pitch and weather inspections to ensure the match can go ahead.

Spectators will be entitled to a full refund of their ticket price (excluding fees) in the event of a match of 15 overs or less and 50 per cent if there's between 15.1 and 29.5 overs.
