England have released their new home and away kits for Euro 2016. The Nike-designed strips will be used in England’s upcoming friendlies with Germany and Holland, for which Roy Hodgson announced his squad on Thursday morning.

England’s unusual new home kit comprises white shirt and shorts with blue trim, grey-blue sleeves and shoulders, and red socks. The red away kit carries the same design but with blue socks, and dark red sleeves and shoulders.

The FA said the red away shirt commemorates the 50th anniversary of England’s 1966 World Cup success at Wembley.

The new Nike Vapor kits are said to be 10% lighter than the brand’s standard attire, with 50% more stretch, and absorb sweat 20% quicker and dry 25% faster than the American brand’s most recent football kits.

Fans will be able to purchase the new shirts from Thursday 24 March for £60. The shorts cost £28 and socks £13, meaning the dedicated supporter will have to part with £101 for a full kit.
