England U21 squad: Levi Colwill named in Euros squad after senior experience

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill was today named in the England squad for this summer’s European Under-21 Championship.

The 20-year-old was this week drafted in to train with the senior England set-up ahead of Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia. But he will return to the Under-21s for their tournament, which kicks off in Romania and Georgia next week.

Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, Arsenal forward Emile Smith Rowe, Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp and West Ham defender Ben Johnson have also been named in a strong squad.

Manchester City Treble-winner Rico Lewis is a surprise omission from the final squad, as is Chelsea’s Lewis Hall. Meanwhile, City midfielder James McAtee and Spurs right-back Djed Spence miss out due to injury. Spence would have made the final squad if he had been fit.
