England Under-20 player Cameron Redpath has been slapped with a three-month ban after admitting to biting Ireland hooker Dylan Tierney-Martin.
Redpath, who plays for Sale Sharks, was playing at inside centre for England in their fifth-place playoff semi-final against Ireland at the World U20 Championships in Argentina.
The ban will keep him on the sidelines until 21 September, but he will not the miss the Premiership opener owing to the World Cup changing the start date.
England won the play-off match 30-23 to gain revenge for their 43-26 defeat to Ireland in the pool stages.
