England team vs Germany includes Raheem Sterling, Luke Shaw and Bukayo Saka

Gareth Southgate has preferred Bukayo Saka to Jack Grealish and Phil Foden for England's starting lineup vs Germany at Euro 2020.

Southgate has reverted to a 3-4-3 formation that was so successful at the 2018 World Cup, meaning Manchester United pair Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw both start in defence.

Manchester City duo John Stones and Kyle Walker complete the back three, with United target Kieran Trippier at right wing-back.

In defensive midfield, Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips continue their flourishing partnership, ahead of Liverpool's Jordan Henderson, who is on the bench.

And in attack, Raheem Sterling continues on the left after scoring both of England's tournament goals so far, with Harry Kane leading the line to try and score his first goal of Euro 2020.

On the right-wing, Arsenal's Saka has got the nod after a fine performance against Czech Republic last time out. City's Phil Foden returns to the squad after sitting out last time and starting both two games, while Jack Grealish drops to the bench despite impressing against the Czechs.

For Germany, City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is on the bench after doubts over his fitness going into the game.

England team vs Germany: Pickford; Stones, Walker, Maguire; Trippier, Rice, Phillips, Shaw; Saka, Kane, Sterling.
