England team pay tribute to Nottingham Forest fan Dylan Rich ahead of World Cup clash

The England football team has paid a beautiful tribute to teenager Dylan Rich after he died following a game last week.

The West Bridgford Colts player, a Nottingham Forest fan, collapsed during an FA Youth Cup clash against Boston United and died at the weekend.

And ahead of England's World Cup qualifier in Poland, Tottenham striker Harry Kane held up a shirt with the words 'For Dylan' emblazoned across the chest.

The England football team Twitter account posted the picture of Kane holding up the shirt with the message: "Rest in peace, Dylan Rich. Forever in our thoughts."

Three Lions fans were also quick to pay their respects to the 17-year-old on social media.

One supporter said: "What a lovely gesture to an amazing young man."

Another added: "Fantastic gesture from England."

A third commented: "That is a classic touch."

And a fourth said: "Always in our hearts."

The gesture comes after Tim Peacock, headmaster of The West Bridgford School, paid a glowing tribute to the football fanatic.

"We are a school in mourning," he said.

"We have lost a wonderful, much-loved, talented member of our community.

"This loss will be felt deeply by many people.

"At the moment our focus is on supporting his family, friends, classmates and teachers through this difficult time."

The Regatta Way Sports club, near Holme Pierrepont, where West Bridgford Colts play, will be open this week for anyone who would like to leave a tribute to the young man.

The club said that tributes can be left on pitch one in memory of the teenager who died on Sunday, September 5.

The ground will be open between 9am and 7pm from Thursday (September 7) to Friday (September 10).

In a statement, West Bridgford Colts said: "The club are in the process of setting up an online book of remembrance, details of which will be shared in due course."
