England star John Stones has reportedly split from his childhood sweetheart girlfriend Millie Savage who is mother to his 18-month-old daughter.
The Manchester City defender is said to have told her "it's over" shortly before Christmas.
Millie's mother Mandy told the Mail Online last night: "We are absolutely devastated. John was like another son to us."
A friend said: "She’s devastated. He left with no real explanation. They had a lovely home and seemed to have settled down as the perfect family."
The couple met when they were 12 years old at Penistone Grammar School in South Yorkshire.
Last summer she followed John to the World Cup where he scored twice in England's 6-1 win over Panama.
Millie told the Sun: "I didn't want other people to know. There isn't anyone else involved."
John has not commented publicly on the split.
