Trent Alexander-Arnold named in England squad for Euro 2020 as Everton and Liverpool decisions made

Gareth Southgate has named his final England squad for this summer’s European Championships, with Trent Alexander-Arnold one of four players from Everton and Liverpool included in the 26-man list.

The Three Lions boss initially named a 33-man provisional squad last week, giving himself a few days to run the rule over the players and make a final decision.

Liverpool duo Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold were included in the provisional squad, as were Everton trio Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jordan Pickford and Ben Godfrey.

The Liverpool and Everton players have been in an England training camp in Middlesbrough ahead of friendly matches against Austria and Romania later this month before the tournament begins.

England’s first game of the tournament sees them take on Croatia on June 13, before their other group games sees them face Scotland and the Czech Republic.

England squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, Sam Johnstone.

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Conor Coady, Reece James, Harry Maguire, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker.

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice.

Forwards: Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling.
