England are set to play in front of fans for the first time since the coronavirus outbreak in October’s friendly against Wales.
It comes after UEFA blocked Denmark and Iceland from having supporters in the stadium for their Nations League games with England in September.
Iceland and Denmark were both hoping to have fans in the stadiums but UEFA are insisting that they have one rule for all games to make sure it is fair and meets strict protocols.
But England will now earmark the game with Wales as the chance to get fans back in the stadium even if it is in limited numbers.
The Three Lions are due to face Wales at Wembley Stadium on October 8, as Gareth Southgate and Ryan Giggs prepare their teams for next summer's postponed Euro 2020 finals.
At the game, tribute to former England players who have died in the last 12 months, including 1966 World Cup heroes Jack Charlton, Martin Peters, Norman Hunter and Peter Bonetti.
England and Wales last met at Euro 2016, with the Three Lions winning 2-1 following an injury-time decider from Daniel Sturridge.
Despite Wales' defeat, they went on to top the group and eventually reached the semi-finals, losing 2-0 to Portugal.
World Cup semi-finalists England will be hoping to do much better next summer than their Euro 2016 showing, after they were dumped out of the competition by Iceland with a 2-1 defeat at the last-16 stage.
October's match will come a month after the start of the 2020-21 Nations League campaign. England will visit Iceland on September 5 and Denmark three days later.
Wales are away to Finland on September 3 and host Bulgaria on September 6 in their Nations League openers.
The competition will then continue on October 11 and 14 when England play Belgium and Denmark respectively, and Wales face the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria.
