The dramatic England Rugby World Cup advert Welsh fans are finding bizarre

As the best rugby players gear up for the World Cup in Japan, one nation's sponsors have launched a slightly bizarre new advert.

England sponsors O2 have revealed a clip of English rugby players preparing for some sort of war - in full English-branded Samurai gear.

The advert shows the likes of Owen Farrell and Courtney Lawes in an old-timey picturesque Japanese village, waiting for some sort of battle, with O2 calling for fans to "be their armour in Japan".

It involves horses, arrows and drums, and the clip - that runs for just over a minute and a half - is actually quite artistically shot.

However it's set to eerie, dramatic music, with the village looking like it's about to be attacked - only for the English players to emerge in samurai armour, emblazoned with the English rose. With no real explanation of what's going on.

And the bizarre advert has caused quite a reaction.

Some people took issue with O2

Others thought it was a good way to hide Wales' behind-the-scenes troubles

While some  just thought the ad was strange

But not everyone hates it
