Eddie Jones' men finished second at the Six Nations after a hugely impressive win over Ireland was followed by a thumping of France, crucial defeat to eventual Grand Slam-winners Wales, a demolition of Italy and utterly bizarre 38-38 draw with Scotland.
England have been placed in Pool C in Japan alongside familiar foes France, Argentina, Tonga and the United States.
Seeking to learn lessons from the past, Jones has announced his squad weeks in advance of the deadline.
However, with further warm-up clashes against Wales, Ireland and Italy to come, plenty of personnel changes are possible between now and September 8.
