Jordan Pickford Blushes saved after a clearance with 10 minutes to go went straight at Karol Swiderski only for the Everton goalkeeper to recover in time to smother the ball as it rolled towards the empty net. Had a quiet evening up to that point and powerless to keep Damian Szymanski's header out. 6
Kyle Walker Appeared to get a pinch on the neck from Kamil Glik before the big half-time argument that involved substitutes from both sides. Earned an assist for his pass to Harry Kane even if the striker created it all by himself. Visibly annoyed to have allowed the cross from his side for Poland's goal. 6
John Stones Shook off an injury picked up late in the first half to continue. Before that there was an amusing moment telling Robert Lewandowski to get up in the early stages after the striker went down when trying to run on to a free kick from the deep left. 6
Harry Maguire Booked at half time for an altercation with Kamil Glik. Did a fine job alongside Stones of keeping Poland's star player quiet. 6
Luke Shaw Would be harsh to level any blame at his feet for the late equaliser - Szymanski's leap before heading past Pickford was remarkable. 6
Kalvin Phillips Harshly booked early on and lost Lewandowski too easily approaching half hour but defensively sound aside from that moment. Watched a tame shot from long range saved early in second half. 7
Declan Rice Largely excellent, making several key interceptions and driving forward with more regularity and made the pass that started the move for Harry Kane's goal. 8
Raheem Sterling Dropped deep with good effect as England gained a foothold in the game. 7
Mason Mount The Chelsea player had England's first half chance, blocked from the edge of the area after Shaw's corner was cleared, and he linked up well with Grealish on a number of occasions. But this was far from his best performance. 6
Jack Grealish The Manchester City attacker's shins took a battering early on against physical Poland defence but he kept going and ended up frustrating the hosts. Arguably his best game for the national team. 8
Harry Kane Everything about the goal was impressive. The turn, the composure, the willingness. But above all the finish, which curled into the bottom right corner. He had missed a promising header midway through the first half after good work from Sterling down the right having also spurned good chances against Hungary and Andorra but that instantly becomes irrelevant when he can produce moments of such remarkable quality. 8
