England player ratings vs Czech Republic: Harry Kane spot on as Michael Keane struggles

Jordan Pickford Very good right-handed save from Vladimir Coufal only to concede from the resulting corner. Made another solid, if photogenic, save an hour in. 6

Kieran Trippier Solid without producing much going forward. Clearly aired some grievances with Keane entering the final stages after making a fine challenge out wide. 5

Michael Keane Lost Jakub Brabec for the equaliser - a basic error that was repeated when Czech Republic won another corner a little later in a ragged opening half. Also poor in possession. A night to forget. 4

Harry Maguire Invited Czechs to attack early in second half with poor pass that was telegraphed towards Mount but looked more solid defensively than Keane - until going walkabout for the hosts' winner. 5

Danny Rose Booked less than 10 minutes in which means he is suspended for game away to Bulgaria on Monday. May have done better on the post for Czechs' goal but the real blame lay elsewhere. 5

Declan Rice Another whose marking was suspect from set pieces. Unconvincing alongside Henderson in the first period and too casual in possession. Improved slightly after the break. 5

Jordan Henderson Good pass to set Sancho off on counterattack nearing half-time but had been anonymous up to that point. More involved when formation changed at the interval. 5

Raheem Sterling Won the early penalty and had a decent chance nearing the hour mark but he lacked his usual zest. Booked for protesting with referee after conceding a foul. 6

Mason Mount Pressed well but did not grow into the game until the second half when he was moved on to the left of a midfield three. Had and will have better days. 6

Jadon Sancho Very quiet. Did not get a chance to run at Czech defence until final minute of the opening half, eventually winning a corner. Replaced by Marcus Rashford. 5

Harry Kane Looked to have settled England down early with penalty straight down the middle but was too isolated, dropping too deep too often in an attempt to get more involved. Had a half chance entering final 10 minutes. 6

Substitutes

Marcus Rashford (for Sancho, 73min) Subdued. Cross from the left in added time failed to beat the first man.

Ross Barkley (for Mount, 73) Looked lively without creating anything notable.

Tammy Abraham (for Rice, 87) On for the final three minutes. Had little chance to leave an impact.
