England player ratings from Denmark defeat as Harry Maguire's woes continue

Ten-man England were deservedly beaten by Denmark in their Nations League clash as Harry Maguire's woes continued with a first-half sending off for Gareth Southgate's Three Lions.

Maguire, who was lucky to escape a red card for an early challenge, was sent off in the first half after picking up another booking for a foul on Kasper Dolberg.

Things went from bad to worse just moments later as referee Jesus Gil Manzano pointed to the penalty spot - seemingly for a soft challenge from Kyle Walker on Thomas Delaney.

Jordan Pickford, who had come wandering off his line to cause confusion with Walker, had no chance as Eriksen marked a century of caps by thumping home the spot-kick.

England rarely tested Kasper Schmeichel in the visitors' goal and the Danes ultimately held on for a well-deserved triumph at Wembley.

Here are how the Three Lions' players rated...

ENGLAND

Pickford 5

Has to share blame on penalty as he was caught in no man’s land.

James 6

Sent off after the final whistle as frustration and anger ruined a good display.

Walker 6

Pickford did him no favours on the penalty. Had a tough night.

Coady 6

So loud, good leadership, but England’s defence exposed this time.

Maguire 4

Sent off. Two yellows, the first could have been red, he looks broken.

Maitland-Niles 6

Unlucky to be sacrificed after England went down to 10 men. Had been OK.

Phillips 6

Nice delivery, the Leeds man is improving with every cap. Did better again.

Rice 6

Good, strong presence but does not have the guile to find killer pass.

Mount 6

Denied another England goal, close range header brilliantly saved by Schmeichel.

Rashford 5

Could not find any openings, very little service and had frustrating night.

Kane 5

Looked well short of fitness, inhibited and nervous. Well below par.
