Reports have claimed England boss Gareth Southgate will revert to a back three in the final of the European Championships against Italy.
Southgate fielded a back four against Ukraine and Denmark, but the Telegraph claim he will go back to the 3-5-2 formation that paid dividends against Germany.
Manchester City academy graduate Kieran Trippier is said to be set to replace Bukayo Saka as the only change from the semi-final victory over Denmark.
That means there is no place for City's Phil Foden, who is a doubt with a foot injury, or for Manchester United transfer-to-be Jadon Sancho.
City target Jack Grealish would also miss out on the starting eleven if reports prove to be correct
United captain Harry Maguire is expected to lead the back three alongside Manchester City defenders Kyle Walker and John Stones.
Meanwhile Luke Shaw keeps his place at left-back and Raheem Sterling remains in the front line.
The change in formation could be implemented by Southgate in order to tackle Italy's offensive threat on the flanks.
Roberto Mancini's side have been very effective at attacking with their full-backs at the tournament and Southgate's aim is to stifle Italy's threat in that area.
The tactic worked a treat against Germany in the round of 16 with England's backline nullifying the offensive impact of Germany's full-backs.
However, Southgate will remember Foden's positive impact in the semi-final and Grealish's transformative effect on the team during his cameo against Germany and may look to use them off the bench.
England have formidable options on the bench who can help change the game in an instant beyond Grealish and Foden too including Bukayo Saka and Manchester United's new signing Jadon Sancho.
The Three Lions will hope to lift their first silverware in 55 years should they beat Italy in the final tonight.
England head into the game as favourites on home soil as a nation holds its breath.
Reported England lineup to face Italy: Jordan Pickford; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire; Kieran Trippier, Kalvin Phillips, Mason Mount, Declan Rice, Luke Shaw; Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling
