England get Maro Itoje boost with star lock fit to start for Saracens in Wasps clash

England boss Eddie Jones has received a big boost ahead of next month’s Autumn Nations Series as Maro Itoje is fit to start for Saracens against Wasps this weekend.

Itoje was an injury doubt after hurting his shoulder in last week’s 71-17 demolition of Bath, but he has recovered to start in the second row on Sunday.

Saracens have made three changes for the match at home, with South Africa prop Vincent Koch making his first start of the season.

“Bath was one of those freak games where everything you touch turns to gold. If you are looking at things we can do better, I think there are lots of them,” said director of rugby Mark McCall.

“Of course, you enjoy a win like that and there was a great energy in the changing room afterwards but this Sunday will be a new experience and we have to get into the same emotional sweet spot.”
