England confirm final Euro 2020 warm-up games as Three Lions gun for glory

Gareth Southgate will face Austria and and Romania as the final part of his Euro 2020 preparations.

England will travel to Vienna on Tuesday, June 2 for a match at the Ernst Happel Stadion which will be during a pre-tournament training camp.

They will also host Romania on Sunday, June 7, but it will not be at Wembley because they have to “release” the Euro 2020 to UEFA as it hosts tournament games.

Football Association bosses are considering St James’s Park, Old Trafford and the Etihad as venues as they look to go round the country in the build-up to the tournament.

Austria have been drawn alongside Ukraine, Holland and the play-off winner in Group C ahead of next summer’s finals, while Romania hope to secure their place as hosts through the play-offs in March.

The FA has already announced that England will host Denmark at Wembley on Tuesday, March 31 and negotiations are ongoing about another fixture for March 27.

England have spoken to Belgium but that game is now unlikely to go ahead.

England have been drawn against Croatia, Czech Republic and the winner of a play-off round featuring Scotland, Israel, Norway and Serbia. England’s Group matches will all be played at Wembley.
