England captain Owen Farrell is always ready to help me out, says Saracens starlet Max Malins

Saracens starlet Max Malins says England captain Owen Farrell is helping him take his game to the next level.

Fly-half Malins has been a regular in the Premiership Rugby Cup this season and has caught the eye with his performances.

Saracens have high hopes for the 22-year-old, who won the Under-20 World Cup with England in 2016.

Malins is hoping to get his hands on another trophy on Sunday when Saracens meet Northampton at Franklin’s Gardens in the PRC Final. And the fly-half has revealed how Farrell has taken time out of his own game to help him improve.

“[Owen] is brilliant,” said Malins. “He sets very high standards, not only for himself but for everyone around him.

“I think that drives the group to be better and improve.

“Personally, he has been very good with me this year. He has been very willing to help me, even if he is playing and I am not.

“He has helped me out with my kicking, passing, whatever it is. He gives me little tips here and there that he spots in my game.”
