England will hand an international debut to Worcestershire seamer Pat Brown in the first Twenty20 clash against New Zealand in Christchurch.
England captain Eoin Morgan confirmed Sam Curran would also make his T20 international bow at the Hagley Oval but Joe Denly misses out after rolling his ankle in training on Thursday morning.
All-rounder Denly scored an unbeaten 39 in England's final warm-up game and will likely be replaced by Somerset’s Lewis Gregory.
Morgan said: "We've two debutants: Sam Curran and Pat Brown. We'll make a decision on the final XI (on Friday).
"Joe has just rolled his ankle. Literally as we were outside he's taken a catch on the rope."
Morgan said of Brown: "For such a young guy leading the attack at Worcester, he's taken that on with great responsibility and great clarity.
"His skill level is certainly up to scratch. Since he's arrived he's impressed; he's a proper athlete, a modern-day cricketer that can do pretty much everything which is fantastic.
"With his bowling, his variations are his strengths so hopefully tomorrow we'll see a bit of them."
