England boss Eddie Jones fires warning to Wales after impressive Six Nations win over Ireland

Eddie Jones has warned Wales that his England side will be '10 per cent better' than their showing against Ireland on Sunday.

An impressive performance at Twickenham saw the hosts end Ireland's Grand Slam hopes with a 24-12 victory, which was largely built on a dominant first half performance.

Converted tries from fly-half George Ford and full-back Elliot Daly helped England to a 17-0 lead at the interval, with Luke Cowan-Dickie adding a second-half try in between scores from Ireland's Robbie Henshaw and Andrew Porter.

Having seen his side's championship hopes revived, Jones was clearly delighted by what he saw, declaring in his post-match press conference that he believed the contest to be over at half-time.

He said: "We played with a lot of control, we read the conditions well, read the referee well and at half-time it was a cricket game, we could have declared."

The victory will have certainly left the England camp in buoyant mood ahead of Wales' visit to Twickenham in two weeks time, but Jones believes there is still more to come from his team, adding that Wales will be on the receiving end of an even more impressive showing when the two sides meet on March 7.

"We took another step up today and we'll take another step up when we play Wales," said Jones.

"We know every time England play Wales it's the biggest game there's ever been, so I don't expect next Saturday week to be any different.

"We're just fitter, we're able to play with more intensity and we will be better against Wales. We will have another 10 per cent against Wales.

"They are playing a bit differently, dangerous with the ball when they again get go forward...so we will have a closer look at them."

Despite revelling in his side's victory, Jones still couldn't resist taking aim at the media after Sunday's victory, taking exception to questions over his decision to include five locks in his matchday squad.

"We are going to go for six locks next week (against Wales), give you something to write about," he added.

"You guys (the media) are so clever, you're all clever so I've just got to suck it all up, enjoy what you say, try to learn from you, and maybe I can pick a better team next week."
