England 0-0 Switzerland player ratings: Trent Alexander-Arnold shines in Nations League penalty shootout win

England beat Switzerland on penalty kicks to win the Nations League third place play-off on Sunday afternoon.

England had the majority of chances in an incredibly frustrating game. Harry Kane hit the crossbar with a deft chip inside the first two minutes, while Fabian Schar’s blushes were spared when he deflected the ball onto the woodwork at the start of the second-half.

Raheem Sterling also hit the crossbar in extra-time, when his free-kick was sent fractionally over.

The game headed to penalties with World Cup hero Eric Dier scoring the decisive spot kick to send England on the path to victory.
