Engineering group signs Armed Forces Covenant to show its support to serving military and veterans

A North Wales engineering group has signed the Armed Forces Covenant to show its support to people serving in the military and veterans.

Gilks (Nantwich) Ltd and Delta Rock Group Ltd (part of The Ethikos Group Ltd) signed the covenant at RAF Valley on Anglesey and have been given the Bronze award for their commitment.

They said they wanted to help Armed Forces personnel as they transition to civilian life and that the partnership could also provide them with skilled and committed future workers.

Air Commodore Adrian Williams said: “On behalf of the Armed Forces in Wales, I was delighted to be with both Gilks and Delta Rock (part of The Ethikos Group) at RAF Valley to sign the Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant is an important way in which businesses can work and support the wider Armed Forces family.

“They have a proud history over many years of supporting our vital work notably at RAF Valley in training the next generation of our fighter pilots, so their commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant was both appropriate and very much appreciated.”

Andrew Oliver, Gilks managing director, said: Gilks are very excited to sign the Armed Forces Covenant, we have had a long standing relationship with the MOD and felt this was a natural progression to, not only support the Armed Forces and their families in their transition, but also to make use of the skill set in which the MOD training, leadership and resilience can provide for our business.

“We are hoping for the relationship to continue to flourish, to the benefit of both, as we continue to work closely together in the future.”

Gareth Hitchmough, Delta Rock general manager, said: “It’s an honour for myself and Delta Rock to be a member of the Armed Forces Covenant, and we are excited and grateful to be able to be part of the armed forces community.

“Those within the armed forces will bring a great mindset and a valuable skillset to the company, and we will help give them additional training and a career outside of the forces.”
