Engineer who says he's Charles and Camilla's 'love child' is 'taking case to court'

An engineer who claims to be the child of Prince Charles and Camilla says he has launched a legal case to prove it.

Simon Charles Dorante-Day from Queensland, Australia, says he was born when the heir to the throne and his now wife were teenagers, but was put up for adoption.

He has made the bizarre claims several times before but now says he has started legal proceedings in the High Court, Australia, to show the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are his parents.

The 53-year-old is determined to prove he is second in line to the throne and says this is the most significant step he has taken so far.

Clarence House told Mirror Online they did not have any comment to make on the story.

"My grandmother, who worked for the Queen, told me outright that I was Camilla and Charles’ son many times," Mr Dorante-Day told New Idea.

"This is most explosive thing that’s ever happened to the palace.

"It’s definitely the most significant step I’ve taken so far – I’ve had to force a deadline, hold them to a date, because we need answers."

He says he filed papers just before Christmas but court staff initially laughed at him.

But now Mr Dorante-Day says a High Court judge in Sydney is assessing the case.

He says he wants answers.

Mr Dorante-Day was born in Gosport, Hampshire, in 1966 when Charles and Camilla would have been in their late teens - several years before they are believed to have first met at a polo match in 1970.

He was adopted by his grandma Winifred, an employee of the Queen and Prince Philip.

Mr Dorante-Day claims his grandma told him "many times" that he was "Charles and Camilla's child".
