Enforcement Courts Handle 114 Foreign Rulings With Value of SAR 400 Million

The Saudi ministry of justice revealed today that foreign rulings applications in the past five months reached 114 to recover around SAR 400 million (approx. $106 million).

The ministry said that enforcement courts and departments around the Kingdom take those applications seriously and ensure that foreign rulings are implemented on defendants inside Saudi Arabia without delay.

“The Kingdom has signed the New York Agreement to enforce foreign arbitration as part of its continuous efforts to support investment climate and enhance Saudi judiciary globally,” the ministry explained.

The enforcement judiciary enforces rulings from foreign countries on the bases of reciprocity. Countries that signed global treaties and agreements are committed to implementing foreign rulings by following clear procedures. Those rulings are considered enforceable documents once they fulfill all conditions stated by enforcement law.
