Enfield stabbing: Murder investigation after man knifed to death in broad daylight in north London

Murder probe: forensic officers at the scene of the fatal stabbing

A murder probe has been launched after a man in his twenties was knifed to death in broad daylight in north London.

Police and paramedics were scrambled reports of a stabbing in Blossom Lane, in Lavender Hill, Enfield, at about 1pm on Thursday.

Officers cordoned off the area but no victim was found.

A man suffering stab injuries presented himself to a hospital in north London a short while later. He died in hospital just after 2.20pm.

"A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course and we await formal identification," a police spokesman said.

"Enquiries are underway to notify the victim’s next of kin."

Police closed roads near the crime scene and people were urged to avoid the area.

Images from the scene in Lavender Hill showed forensic officers working into the night near to where the man was stabbed.

There have been no arrests.
