Yet the sulky, spotty twosome, played by Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke, will feature in Kevin and Perry - The Movie, the next feature film from the people that produced Bean - the Ultimate Disaster Movie.
The £3.75m production will be shot in London and Ibiza as the tormented teenagers search for "true love", attempt to lose their virginity and follow a quest to become "the world's top DJ Mixmasters".
It will be Enfield's first feature film role, although his co-star was widely acclaimed for her role in Nil By Mouth
The characters, developed in the long-running BBC1 series Harry Enfield and Chums, quickly became one of its most popular elements.
Shooting starts next month, and the film will be released next year. Along with its stars the script is said to feature a number of cameo roles for British comedy actors and well-known faces, although they are not yet confirmed. Kevin spends much of the film fantasising about how much better his life could be if he were not treated so unjustly, imagining that Kate Moss finds him irresistable.
It seems unlikely, though, that Kevin will manage to succeed with the supermodel. "As yet the only person who truly understands me is my best mate Perry. For although I've been up for it almost three years, no girl has yet let me go the whole way."
Enfield hinted, though, that Kevin and Perry's fortunes with the opposite sex might change, adding: "We've got to get it in this film or we'll be abnormal."
Although the film has a modest budget it carries high potential. The production company behind it, Tiger Aspect, had a huge international hit with Bean which, though not a critical success, took about $250m (£150m) worldwide, making it the highest-grossing British film. To distribute Kevin and Perry, Tiger Aspect yesterday announced a deal with Icon Entertainment International - the distribution arm of Hollywood star Mel Gibson's Icon group.
Written by Enfield and Dave Cummings, Kevin and Perry will be directed by Ed Bye.
¥ Star Wars has been toppled from the top of the US box office charts by the new Austin Powers film.
It means that actress and model Liz Hurley, who features in Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged Me, is ahead of boyfriend Hugh Grant in the charts after his movie Notting Hill was edged into third place.
Austin Powers, starring Mike Myers, took £36m in its first three days, more than the original Austin Powers film made on its entire US release.
