Enes Kanter calls Westbrook and Steven Adams his favorite teammates

If there’s one thing we can safely say about Enes Kanter, it’s that he’s never been afraid of speaking his mind. For that reason, he’s become a popular figure among NBA fans, especially those who are fans of the teams for which he’s played.

Although he spent less than three full seasons in Oklahoma City, Kanter became a fan favorite, and it seems that the love was mutual.

Appearing on ClutchPoints’ Instagram Live feed, Kanter, who currently plays for the Boston Celtics, let it be known that Steven Adams and Russell Westbrook were his favorite teammates. That’s saying a lot considering the fact that Adams has played for five different teams over the course of his nine years in the NBA.

In short order, Kanter and Adams obviously developed a mutual affinity for one another. The duo became affectionately known as “The ‘stache brother” due to their sporting matching mustaches, and the camaraderie they shared persisted even after Kanter was shipped to New York in the trade that saw Carmelo Anthony’s talents traded to the Thunder.

Since then, Kanter has been especially complimentary of Westbrook, who he’s gone on the record as defending multiple times. In a 2018 interview with The Ringer, Kanter mentioned that Westbrook and Adams were among the first to reach out to him when he found himself at the center of an international dispute that caused him to be detained in Romania during the Summer of 2017.

It stands to reason that the act of kindness resonated deeply with Kanter. For good reason, he remembers his former teammates quite well.
