There is now a robust business case for large-scale energy efficiency. Research from Cambridge Econometrics has highlighted that improving UK homes is good for residents and the country; it estimates that a large scale, 10-year renovation programme could help create thousands of new jobs.
Our morning seminar on Thursday 12 February 2015 will explore best practice and barriers for councils trying to reduce energy bills for residents, businesses and their own estate, and will consider findings from the Local Authority Energy Index, developed by Knauf Insulation, which measures the local energy and energy efficiency agendas of 25 councils in England.
Featuring high-level speakers from within the government, local authorities and energy sector, the Guardian supported by Knauf Insulation, is hosting a free event that will update public leaders on the latest policy developments, help them understand how to maximise the benefits of energy-efficiency measures, and will offer advice and debate to enable the development of strategies that will save both the environment and money.
