Householders can get money back for switching energy providers before bill hike

The cost of living crisis continues to hit families across the UK and many Britons are looking for ways to cut down on spending. Over the years, companies such as Money Supermarket have been at the centre of consumer's buying habits, but with soaring energy prices, many UK comparison sites have found themselves without any deals to offer and little to compare.

Martin Lewis, the man behind MoneySavingExpert, has said the soaring cost of energy has hit a crisis point and more help is needed for struggling households who are facing a 'desperate' situation.

He warned "it will be desperate" when bills rise this winter. "It's going to throw many households into a terribly difficult financial situation," he told the BBC's Today programme.

Energy suppliers are not offering cheap tariffs due to high wholesale prices leaving comparison sites stuck for commission and reporting a fall in profits, while consumers continue to struggle to cut bills. However, those who are looking to save money on energy bills can save up to £24 with Confused.com, thanks to a new cashback deal.

The deals website, TopCashback which gives customers money back for purchasing offers through them, is offering £24 for those customers who choose a duel fuel switch and £12 for those who opt for a single fuel switch on Confused.com.

A duel fuel tariff is when both your gas and electricity come from the same energy provider, while a single fuel tariff is when you buy a single utility from a provider. The TopCashback deal allows shoppers to save money when changing their tariff with Confused.com.

To make the most of the deal, simply sign up to TopCashback for free and then shop with Confused.com Energy as normal.

TopCashback feature thousands of cash back deals from holidays, grocery shopping, takeaways, gas and electricity contracts. Consumers should be aware though, that cashback will not be paid on the above deal if you or your new supplier cancels your switch prior to the 180 days validation period.

Cashback can be earned by clicking through to Confused.com Energy and completing a brand new Single or Dual Fuel Energy switch immediately and wholly online. Go to the TopCashback website for full terms and conditions.
