Arsenal midfielder Bukayo Saka is set to have a busy summer having been named in England’s Euro 2020 squad.
Having originally been named in the Three Lions’ provisional squad for the tournament, there was a feeling that the Gunners youngster could be omitted from Gareth Southgate’s trimmed-down selection.
However, he is now set to play a part in the tournament itself and is the only Arsenal representative in the Three Lions squad.
The news of his inclusion makes it a fantastic day for Saka, having also been named as a nominee for the Premier League Young Player of the Season for the 2020/21 campaign.
It was a season in which the academy graduate was a shining light in an otherwise disappointing campaign for Mikel Arteta’s men.
He scored seven goals and notched ten assists in what was a hugely impressive personal season.
Of course, Gunners fans have been left delighted that they are set to see the Hale Ender display his talents at a major international tournament.
They voiced their congratulations and elation with the news, having been confirmed on Tuesday evening on social media.
England kick-off their Euro 2020 tournament with a match-up against Croatia at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 13 June.
They then clash with Scotland and the Czech Republic in the remaining group stage matches.
Saka has a few chances to impress before then though with friendlies against Austria and Romania, the former of which takes place tomorrow evening at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium.
