End of an era in Newtownards as Regency gift shop closes its doors

Newtownards is witnessing the end of an era with the closing of the Regency Gift House.

The store which sells "fancy goods and gifts" has been a stalwart in the Co Down market town for more than 30 years.

Now though it is to relocate to Bangor and close down the Regent St site , and this weekend it is selling off all its good and the fixtures and fitting.

DUP councillor Robert Adair said: "I will miss the Regency Gift House and have many memories of shopping with my granny for Christmas, wedding and new baby gifts.

"The McCullough family have traded in Newtownards for many years and the store will be greatly missed. Lydia the friendly and helpful assistant will be missed by us all. I hope everyone continues to support the Bangor store for unique gifts."
