It's a sad day for a Dublin village after it emerged that a second business in the area had fallen victim to lockdown and the pandemic.
It's understood that Cabinteely Motors will be remaining shut even after restrictions lift having being closed in the village for most of this year.
The business made the difficult decision to shut permanently which comes after a popular restaurant nearby closed when the pandemic first hit but never opened.
A local Facebook group said: "We've heard that Cabinteely Motors will not be reopening. They've been closed for the last few months and have apparently decided to close permanently.
"This is the second business in the village to close during the pandemic after Pielows restaurant closed permanently in March of last year."
Many shared their fond memories of the motor factor which seemingly had serviced or fixed the cars of nearly every family that ever lived there.
One said: "Sorry to hear this. Had many jobs done on different cars through the years in Cabinteely Motors. They were brilliant, always did a great job and were very reasonable. Wishing the lads the best in the future."
Another jokingly added: "The man in the garage with the beard always scared me as a child. I’m sure he was sound! If memory serves that garage has been around for decades, that’s sad."
