The Member for Clarence says the Northern Rivers deserves to come out of lockdown this Friday if no COVID cases are confirmed before then.
Chris Gulaptis said there would be a "revolution" of MPs and mayors across the region if their pleas for an end to the restrictions fall on deaf ears.
"There is no reason for us to be in lockdown," he said.
"My colleagues from Myall Lakes up to the border are screaming at the bit saying, 'Let's get out of lockdown, we don't have a case.'"
Mayors from Ballina, Byron, Lismore, Tweed, Richmond Valley and Kyogle shires united to ask Mr Gulaptis to lobby the government on their behalf.
Byron Shire mayor Michael Lyon said the lockdown was damaging for businesses and families and no longer seemed justified.
"When we're in a situation where we don't have any cases, where there's no real justification to remain in lockdown, we need it lifted," he said.
"That might be tough for people doing it tough in other parts of the state, whether that be Dubbo or Wilcannia or Sydney, but that's not really any fault of ours."
Richmond Valley mayor Robert Mustow said common sense needed to prevail.
'No response'
Meanwhile, the New South Wales Cross-Border Commissioner said calls for more "proportionate" border restrictions continued to be ignored by the Queensland government.
James McTavish said he had not received a response from Queensland about amendments to the border restrictions.
He said he sought to discuss expanding the definition of essential workers, advice about shared child-custody arrangements for parents and solutions for Queenslanders stranded in NSW needing to travel by road to return home.
"We're pretty disappointed about that," Mr McTavish said.
"I know there is substantial concern about what the future looks like for many, many people, and we are doing everything we can to get a better outcome, particularly for people in the northern rivers.
"Unfortunately the Queensland government has given us no indication of what the requirements to ease restrictions would look like.
