CORLETTE'S Foreshore Drive culvert is expected to be back in action next month after its March collapse in flooding rains.
Port Stephens Council says its Tomago-manufactured bridge was prefabricated and ready for delivery to site. The Newcastle Herald has reported works were due to begin in October.
Facilities and services group manager Greg Kable said twelve concrete piles would be installed over the next week as the site was prepared.

"We've been working hard to clear all debris from the waterway and the rock revetment works are complete in preparation to begin installing piles to hold the new bridge," Mr Kable said.
"We know the community is interested in this project and there has been a steady rise in sightseers since the project began. This next week is our most complex with hazards that could cause serious harm to the unaware visitor."
The finished bridge will expand the channel to allow flood water to move through, and improves pedestrian access with a 2.4-metre footpath on its downstream side.
The bridge is expected to be open by the end of December, the council said, with final line works slated for January.
