Police have charged a man on suspicion of drug supply offences as part of their Operation Venetic investigation into the use of encrypted phones - known as EncroChat.
Sam Howard, 33 years, of Hursley Road, Norris Green has been held on suspicion of drugs offences including conspiracy to supply cocaine.
He was arrested by officers from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit on Monday, January 31 when his car was stopped on Speke Boulevard.

The 33-year-old appeared in Wirral Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 1 after being charged with conspiracy to supply a Class A controlled drug (cocaine) and with acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.
His case has now been adjourned until March 1, 2022 and he was remanded into custody.
A spokesperson from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit said: "A Liverpool man is the latest to be charged with drug offences as part of Operation Venetic.
"Sam Howard, 33 years, of Hursley Road, Liverpool was arrested after his car was stopped on Speke Boulevard yesterday.
"The charge forms another part of the NWROCU's response to Operation Venetic: the national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as EncroChat."
