EncroChat Most Wanted: Faces of nine men police want to trace

Detectives have released the images of nine men wanted in connection with investigations into the messaging platform EncroChat.

The network was hacked in an international operation - Operation Venetic - last year, offering police unprecedented access to the messages of suspected criminals.

Merseyside Police has made 148 arrests in connection with operations linked to the software since April last year.

Today, the force issued a public appeal for men it said are wanted in connection with drug conspiracy investigations.

Those men are:

  • 34-year-old Kevin Nolan, 34, from Stockbridge Village
  • Anthony Baker-Owens, 26, from Birkenhead
  • Callum Hogg, 30, from Liverpool
  • Adam Lea, 28, from Liverpool
  • Ian Roberts, 26, from Huyton
  • Neil Kettle, 33, from Huyton
  • Saleh Saleh, 29, from Liverpool
  • Shaun Walker, 38, from Liverpool (with links to Widnes, Cheshire)
  • Ian Lea, 31, from Liverpool

Detective Sergeant Daniel Pilling, part of Merseyside Police's response to Operation Venetic, said: “You will have seen many recent court cases involving this massive operation, with more in the pipeline.

"So far on Merseyside, we have arrested 148 people, 114 of whom have been charged.

"Thirty seven people have been sentenced to a total of 444 years in prison, which has a massive impact on the criminal landscape of Merseyside and beyond."

He added: "We would encourage them or anyone who knows their whereabouts to contact us and stop delaying the inevitable. We’ll continue to issue the faces of any more wanted individuals until they are brought in.

“Merseyside and many areas of the UK are safer thanks to this operation, and we will continue to target anyone we suspect is involved in serious organised crime and keep the momentum going.”
