'Encouragement' - Chris Hughton gives his verdict on his time so far at Nottingham Forest

Chris Hughton is delighted with how the opening weeks of his tenure at Nottingham Forest have played out.

Hughton has taken 12 points from his first seven games after hectic run of matches since succeeding Sabri Lamouchi.

The Reds boss can now look forward to two weeks to plan for the next round of fixtures during the international break.

Speaking minutes after Saturday's 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers, Hughton said he was happy with what has been achieved so far.

"I would have to assess it as pleased, really delighted. What we've seen in this division is the value of three points," he said.

"One of the draws could have been wins. I've mentioned the Rotherham game before.

"I have to be delighted because the team have gone through a difficult period. We hope we've see some signs of encouragement."

Hughton has consistently said he needs more time on the training ground to get to know his players.

However, he will not get all of the next two weeks to do that before Forest return to action at Barnsley. That is because players who do not have international duty will get some time to rest after a run of seven games in 21 days.

"We have players who have played almost every game. That's gruelling. Some will go away for international duty, but the players that are here need a rest," he said.

"Recovery is a big part of the next couple of weeks."
